Aluminium Flashings
In 2006, Flashclad introduced an innovative extruded aluminium mechanical flashing system as a solution to the prevalent issue of relying on sealants and paint for water resistance.
Their designs address critical junctions between cladding and joinery without depending on sealants. According to Build Magazine 166, the top concerns in building defects are practices that allow moisture to penetrate the building envelope, the use of incompatible materials, subpar workmanship, and poor installation methods. The New Zealand construction sector still grapples with the issue of watertightness. Misuse of sealants was highlighted as the most urgent problem, as it affects many constructions and compromises the long-term quality of buildings.

AS/NZS 4284 tested, our test was conducted without the reliance on sealants, foams or plastic back flashings, achieving 4.500 kPa = 312 kph wind speeds.
